What are corrective exercises?
Corrective exercises are strengthening or stretching movements that Dr. Joseph teaches you in the office. As one of his patients, you get a home exercise plan with 25% stretching exercises and 75% strengthening exercises, put together with a Physical Therapist, to improve your posture, promote healing, and improve chronic functional imbalances.
After you learn your corrective exercises in the office, you can do them at home according to Dr. Joseph’s clear instructions. In addition, he might include corrective exercises in a larger, more comprehensive treatment plan with other services such as Chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, Kinesio Taping®, or custom foot orthotics.
As you go through your treatment plan with corrective exercises, you visit Integrated Chiropractic for regular follow-ups. Dr. Joseph evaluates your function and mobility at each visit to insure that you are always getting the appropriate care on each visit to the office.
What are the benefits of corrective exercises?

Dr. Joseph can integrate new exercises into your plan as you recover from an injury or watch your functional mobility improve.
What does a corrective exercise plan look like?
Dr. Joseph customizes your exercise plan using careful and controlled exercises that are easy to learn and correctly perform. He chooses your workouts based on your underlying injury or condition and your treatment goals, targeting specific body parts with a lack of strength or mobility for any reason.
Common functional exercises that might appear in your plan include:
- Neck stretches
- Back of the leg, hip, and pelvis stretches
- Strengthening using bodyweight or exercise bands
- Core strengthening
- Dumbbell exercises
- Foam roller stretches
- Gym/Workout Facility/Training Center instruction
Dr. Joseph guides you through each stretch and movement to make sure you’re using the proper body mechanics while performing it. He explains each stretch in detail and the benefits that it offers for your function or recovery.
Corrective exercises are beneficial for individuals who want to improve their body mechanics.
