What are digital X-rays?
Digital X-rays are a type of cutting-edge X-ray technology that uses sensors instead of traditional photographic film to take pictures of structures inside your body. Advantages of digital X-rays include less radiation, better precision and accuracy, and time savings. Dr. Joseph takes digital X-rays in the office and transfers them directly onto a computer screen.
When are digital X-rays used?
Digital X-rays develop images of tissues inside your body, especially your bones. Such X-rays can also detect injuries or diseased tissues in your abdomen, chest, limbs, and more. They allow Dr. Joseph to identify various musculoskeletal conditions and design the most effective treatment plan.
Are digital X-rays right for me?
Dr. Joseph lets you know if you’re a candidate for digital X-rays after discussing your symptoms and medical history. He also completes a physical exam. You may need digital X-rays if you experience:
- Ongoing pain
- Severe pain
- Bruising
- Swelling
- Stiffness
- Decreased range of motion
- Limited mobility
- Burning
- Tingling
- Numbness
Dr. Joseph may suggest you undergo blood tests, MRIs, or CT scans to make a final diagnosis. He uses digital X-ray technology with most patients, along with customized reviews of his findings, to provide superior treatment plans.
What happens during digital X-rays?
Digital X-rays are fast and painless. During the procedure, you stand perfectly still while your provider uses computerized technology to take pictures of bones and other tissues. Dr. Joseph receives the results immediately, reviewing them with you on a computer screen.
After diagnosing fractures, spine problems, or other injuries, he offers treatments and/or recommendations needed to speed up healing and reduce your discomfort.
Will I need treatment?
After discussing the results of digital X-rays with you, Dr. Joseph may recommend one or more of the following chiropractic treatments:
- Chiropractic adjustments
- Myofascial release
- Massage therapy
- Near-infrared light therapy
- Home Remedies
- Corrective exercises
- Kinesio Taping®
- Custom orthotics

He personalizes each treatment plan to improve muscle and joint function, speed up healing, and reduce your risk of future problems.
