What is body sculpting?
Body contouring or sculpting is a noninvasive treatment alternative to liposuction, a well-known surgical fat removal technique. At Integrated Chiropractic, Dr. Joseph sculpts the natural contours of the body using a LipoMelt® protocol and the state-of-the-art Trifecta Red Light bed, a light treatment that emits red and near-infrared light using microchips.
During the treatment, a feeling of warmth but no discomfort, is felt. The red light interacts with fat cells, making their walls permeable and causing some of their contents to spill out. Your lymphatic system naturally drains out the fat leakage in the weeks after your treatment.
The near-infrared light plays a different role during treatment. It strengthens the energy-producing mitochondria in the cells and stimulates collagen and elastin production, which smooths and firms the skin.
After a session, you should exercise for at least 10 minutes to stimulate circulation and facilitate the removal of the fat that the treatment releases (which can be done in the office by using our Vibratory Plate). For exceptional results, Dr. Joseph recommends using LipoMelt while using the Ideal Protein or ChiroThin protocol to track your nutrition and exercise. The protocol also lets you set goals and monitor your progress after treatment.
Which areas can I target with body sculpting?
LipoMelt body sculpting can target pockets and smaller areas of fat that you struggle to lose through diet, exercise, and other tactics. Some areas that patients frequently target with LipoMelt are the:
- Chin and jaw
- Upper arms
- Bra fat
- Abdomen
- Hips
- Buttocks
Dr. Joseph suggests reaching your ideal weight or getting close to it before you consider body contouring with LipoMelt. The treatment is not a weight-loss strategy but can reduce the volume of treatment areas with a little extra fat.
How many body sculpting treatments will I need?
Dr. Joseph examines you ahead of time to make sure body sculpting aligns with your treatment goals. During this consultation, he can also predict the number of treatments you’ll need to reach your goals. While the number varies, most people require a regimen of two or three treatments per week, for 12-18 in total, that each lasts for 30 minutes.
To ensure your results outlast your body sculpting appointments, you should practice a healthy lifestyle with a diet full of leafy greens and lean protein, moderate exercise, and little to no alcohol.
