request an appointmentWhat is contour light therapy?
Contour light therapy is a body sculpting and skin tightening treatment available at Integrated Chiropractic. During the treatment, the LipoMelt® device emits two different wavelengths of light, which alter your skin and body fat. It uses:
Red light
Red light wavelengths go deep under your skin to reach the fat below. The light weakens the fat cells and causes them to leak some of their volume. Then, your body either uses the fat as energy or removes it as waste through the lymphatic system.
Near-infrared light
Near-infrared light from the LipoMelt device strengthens the mitochondria of your skin and tissue cells, which is the source of their energy. Additionally, the near-infrared light causes your skin to produce more collagen for firmness and elastin for tightness. This creates a smoother and tighter skin texture while reducing inflammation.
Which areas does contour light therapy treat?
Contour light therapy can target various areas of the body where you store fat or have loose or damaged skin. During your consultation at Integrated Chiropractic, Dr. Joseph reviews your goals and plans the treatment for one or more targeted areas.
The most popular areas to target with the LipoMelt treatment are the:
- Jowls
- Upper arms
- Bra fat
- Abdomen
- Hips
- Buttocks
A typical treatment regimen includes 12-18 treatments with two or three sessions per week. For the best possible results from contour light therapy, Dr. Joseph may recommend dietary changes as well as adding more exercise to your routine.
Is contour light therapy painful?
Contour light therapy at Integrated Chiropractic isn’t painful or uncomfortable; some report it as feeling like a warm, soothing hug. The device emits light and heat and results in long-term therapeutic and aesthetic benefits.
Am I a good candidate for contour light therapy?
Dr. Joseph evaluates you during your consultation to make sure you’re a good candidate for contour light therapy. Although the treatment helps you lose fat, it won’t work for significant weight loss; you should consider it only if you’re at your ideal weight or getting very close to it.
Contour light therapy is very safe. However, if you have any conditions that might interfere with the treatment for any reason, Dr. Joseph lets you know. He might recommend rescheduling the treatment or taking another approach to fat loss.
